Shape Sequences with a -1 Bitmap will hard crash Aleph One v1.11. Preferable to retain pre-1.8 behavior of rendering -1 bitmaps as invisible.
Video: https://youtu.be/gbYqZOnva38
Steps to Reproduce:
Setup a frame in Shapefusion with a -1 Associated bitmap. Place that frame within a sequence. When Aleph One 1.11 attempts to render the sequence, it will crash with error message below.
Aleph One Versions Affected:
- Aleph One version 1.11 through 1.8
Aleph One will crash
- Aleph One 1.7.1 or earlier (Atleast since ~2013)
Frame will render as invisible.
Error Message:

System:
OS: Windows 11, 26200.7623
GPU: 3080 RTX 10GB
CPU: 12700k
Personal Commentary:
I became aware of the crash because I used -1 bitmap frames in ShapeFusion as invisible sprites within one of my older projects. Perhaps it isn't best practice since I don't think Anvil allowed -1 bitmaps frames? That said, it worked for ~10 years (~2013 through ~May 10, 2024) so I see this as a negative regression. It took me a while to associate the crash to the cause.
