A collection of outstanding issues and suggestions for the Vulnerability Notebook

Currently following PR: #3

General

• Make styling more consistent with the global Atlas styles
• Documentation & Citation of data sources
• Add copy and more descriptions for insights to each section
• Remove admin 2 selections or run processing pipeline for it
• Increase font weight across figures
• Additional tooltips to define things like population sensitivity, exposure, etc.
• Reorder sections so composite indicator is at the top.
• Define key terminology in the overview
• Add key datasets to S3 and query direct from S3
  • Exposure
  • Sensitivity (Different version in notebook with normalized index values - S3 for transparency and user access)
  • Adaptive Capacity (Different version in notebook with normalized index values - S3 for transparency and user access)

Exposure Section

• Highlight what exposure means to users
• Add base year/units (2015 USD, annual average)'
• Commodity Selection (for visualization only)?

Sensitivity Section

• Better labels for Icicle plot legend (categories of low, moderate, high vulnerability)
• Better color for the male/female groups (female is hard to read)
• Add inline labels for gender on the bars to highlight male/female
• Allow switching to tabular view of dataset for icicle
• Add some copy of how to read/understand the chart

Adaptive Capacity Section

• Conflict values and numbers are confusing, think about replacing?
  • Rename indicator to "Peace/Conflict-free area"
• Add additional indicators?

Composite Index Section

• Color blind friendly palettes
• Multi-region select
• Add additional indicators to map
• Look into population layer and population layer rural/urban masking so population centers do not dominate.
• Add copy to explain how the composite indicator is calculated
• Make sure legend directionality is clear.
• Add ranked output for multi-select
• Tool tip for map goes out of bounds rather than resizing.
