- On a camping trip, no WiFi, no computer, just phone and LTE connection
- On lunch break in a secure area, can't use desktop for personal use, just have phone and LTE connection
- In airport, laptop dead, no plugs, no WiFi, just have phone and LTE connection
And you need to help somebody with an issue on GitHub. What to do? How to prepare?
- Carry phone charger
- Keep all you local GitHub repos in Google Drive or DropBox ( I use DropBox )
- Authorize an online app for GitHub access

I have authorized Cloud9.io and another one which i dropped and can't remember.
My new favorite is CodeAnywhere.com - runs in any browser
Then also get cheap Android tablet - example second-hand Kindle Fire $40. Or get a nice one - like a Google Pixel C with a keyboard.
Use browser and CodeAnywhere to update things - either on DropBox or directly on GitHub. Downside: The virtual servers created on the fly for testing are Linux only.
The tablet is not really necessary but comes in handy when you need to enter text and actually update some code. The smaller form factor of a tablet means it's much easier to carry around and get through security.
