The UKMO packages look for the ${UMDIR} path to locate STASHmaster files when opening UM fields files. The directory /g/data/access/umdir is effectively this directory, and would be configured as such on UKMO machines. Is it worth setting this environment variable when loading environments containing UKMO packages e.g. mule or iris?
