Codex Desktop consistency behavior requiring explicit live-readback semantics.

Symptom

Standalone automations or separate helpers can persist title/archive metadata without refreshing the running Desktop catalog until restart.

Risks

Generic task walls, misleading persistence proof, stale visible state, and poor task traceability.

Required portable behavior

• Prefer persistent app-visible root heartbeats for task management.
• Treat helper results as persistence proof only.
• Verify live mutations through app-native list/read tools.
• Keep standalone scheduled work read-only when the live task surface is unavailable.
