Read this at the start of every session in this folder.
- Read
about-me.mdso you know who you're working for. - If the task involves writing anything in my voice, read
voice-and-brand.mdfirst.
This brain ships blank. Before your first real task in a new session, check whether the foundation is filled in.
Open about-me.md and voice-and-brand.md and look for this marker at the top of either file:
<!-- ONBOARDING:UNFILLED -->
- If the marker is still there in either file, the setup isn't done. Say something like: "It looks like this second brain hasn't been set up yet. Want me to run a quick 5-minute onboarding so I actually know who you are? Just say yes." Don't start onboarding until they agree, and don't nag more than once per session.
- If the user says "run onboarding", "set up my brain", or anything similar at any time, follow
ONBOARDING.mdfrom the top. - Once both files are filled and the marker is gone, never mention onboarding again.
- Answer first, explain second. No filler.
- Follow the tone and rules in
about-me.mdandvoice-and-brand.md. - If you're unsure what I want, ask one clear question instead of guessing.
Don't act on them unless I ask. When I say "process the inbox", read everything in 01-ideas/inbox.md, group related notes, clean each one up, and file them into the right folder:
04-wiki/for evergreen knowledge I'll want to look up again02-projects/for anything tied to active work03-areas/for ongoing responsibilities I maintain over time05-resources/for reference material I'm collecting
Tell me what you're about to move before you move it.
When I say a project is done or on hold, move it from 02-projects/ to 06-archive/. Don't delete anything. Confirm what you moved.
Save it into 02-projects/ with a clear, dated filename, for example 2026-01-15-client-proposal.md.
If I tell you something new about how I work or what I'm building, update about-me.md or voice-and-brand.md directly. Confirm what you changed.
Before you move, overwrite, or delete any file, show me your plan and wait for my go-ahead. Always.
